Hi everyone!

First post in quite a long time… And I don’t know if it is good news or not. On one hand, it’s not update 1.8 :^( But on the other hand, it’s a whole new CINIS game, one which plays a lot better!

You can find CINIS - Survivor here, and it is naturally free to play again.

This time, you also won’t be waiting for updates with that game. It is fully released meaning there are no planned content updates, or even bug fixes on the way. I consider the game to be done, in it’s 1.0 release. Only if there was something absolutely wrong, then I may fix it. But testing shows it works quite well.

So what happened to 1.8? Well, it’s a long story, and I’ve written in more detail about it in a blog post on the other game’s page. But the gist of the story is that I realized I really had no idea what I was doing, or what the goal for this project actually was, or how to get there. CINIS - Survivor isn’t a “fix” for that, it is a new game to test out other ways of doing gameplay and such. But I consider it a much better game, and will keep CINIS here as CINIS - Classic from now on, mostly for preservation, and being able to look back at my improvements in skill.

So in essence CINIS - Classic is archived. It won’t receive anymore updates.

I enjoyed working on it tho! It taught me a lot, among other things how to even release and maintain games, make bug fixes and release patches, and much more. It was my first solo-release, and I am proud of it for that, even if I think the gameplay is sub-par.

Hope this isn’t too disappointing to all who were waiting for the 1.8 update… But I thank everyone for trying out old CINIS, and hope and encourage you try out new CINIS too! I’ve been told it’s quite fun ;^)
